Fallout New Vegas Empty
PostSubject: Fallout New Vegas   Fallout New Vegas EmptySat Nov 06, 2010 11:25 am

Fallout is back!

New Vegas aka Las Vegas was speared the devastation of the atomic bomb however it was ravaged by time and war so most of the city is gone, however some of the Strip was saved and rebuilt to its former glory.

In Fallout New Vegas you play as a courier commissioned to transport a Platinum Chip to new Vegas but before you could complete your mission your waylaid by a guy called Benny (Matthew Perry) and some great Khan thugs, Benny takes the platinum chip then pops a couple of slugs in your head for your trouble then plants you in an early grave.

However your skull seems to be thicker than ya average couriers as you survive and are dug out of the ground by a securitron by the name of Victor (William Sadler) your then patched up by Doc Mitchell (Michael Hogan) then your sent out into the world at large to explore the Mojave on a quest of vengeance or forgiveness you decide.

The list of stars in this game is quite something including Star Trek actors René Auberjonois and Michael Dorn as well as Danny Trejo and Felicia Day among others.

Gameplay and graphics are more or less the same as Fallout 3 with the exception of the weapons looking allot better and the addition of proper Iron-site aiming, speaking of weapons Obsidian one uped their Bethesda brethren by adding double the compliment found in FO3 as well as adding very impressive looking sand storms.

The down side is the further you go into the game the more unstable it becomes with the occasional CTD hopefully this will be fixed in the patches that will be released in the near future.

One of the biggest new features in FO:NV is the Faction system, there are many factions for you to meet and most major towns and groups constitute as a faction the largest of which is the New California Republic. Completing quests for a faction will earn you kudos with that faction and may eventually lead to store discounts or other handy perks (eg, the NCR give you a two way radio allowing you to radio in for some assistance from a Ranger or trooper who will stay by your side until he or she dies in combat) Some missions may boost your rep with one faction but lower your rep with another, however your not forced to pick a side till right near the end.

If you loved Fallout 3 the you'll love New Vegas which brings Fallout back home to California.
Just think any one you meet or kill could have descended from our very own Stonesmith.
